   Proposal Description:
   Abstract: Vascular risk factors and prevalent cardiovascular disease  are hypothesized to contribute to age-related brain injury, including  neuroanatomic changes, cognitive decline, and dementia. Elucidating  relations between vascular health and brain aging may contribute to  future prevention strategies for cognitive decline and dementia. This  project will test whether a baseline index of systemic vascular risk  and disease (modified Framingham Stroke Risk Profile score mFSRP)  relates to 1) cognitive, 2) functional, and 3) diagnostic trajectories  in older individuals.
